About and Contact

My name is Genaro Ramirez.
I recently graduated from the University of North Texas with my
BFA in Fashion Design. I’m an eager designer who is excited to grow
in the industry and expand my knowledge. I was born in Los Angeles,
but have experienced life in many different places, which has given me
a deeper understanding of people and how their clothes affect them. I
have a passion for traveling and experiencing new cultures.
My inspirations have come from my Mexican heritage, with a mix
of other style influences such as Japanese restoration methods and
Americana stylings. I enjoy being hands-on with my work and love to
experiment with new construction and dye processes. I have always
had an interest in denim, duck canvas, workwear, accessories, and restoration.
I am constantly making an effort to expand my knowledge,
whether it be in school or outside of school. I have experience in denim
and duck canvas work through an internship opportunity at Ciano
Farmer Denim Co., where, through his mentorship, I gained a deeper
understanding of menswear and garment construction. As well as
internships, I am a 2023 Fashion Scholarship Fund scholar, and was
awarded the Marty’s Light award for my designs inspired by the brand
Dickies.
I hope to inspire people through my designs and give a voice to
those who are underrepresented.
